Postcolonialism is the world after the colonial era and has shaped the way culture and religion have been understood. It is a time that allows us to examine how colonialism has affected the world and learn from the history of said colonialism.

Postcolonialism is not solely focused on the study of colonialism in western countries, rather the study of colonialism and its effects across the globe. Postcolonialism is to study why and how we think about colonialism and not just as simply as the west versus the non-west.
